Abodi, Elysian, Kata Szegedi, and THEFOUR: these are the 4 Hungarian brands that walked the runway in the ADI Design museum. 4 emerging names, 4 names with original potential, 4 names to keep an eye on because fashion is creativity, it is experimentation, but above all, it is support.

MOODBOARD
For 4 years now, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA), in agreement with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, has been supporting the most talented and potential Hungarian brands under the Budapest Select agency brand. The 4 names of this edition take us into their world of experimentation and originality: we start with Abodi, a brand that has transformed the combination with art and the Transylvanian tradition of the designer into its main inspiration. In this collection, the stories of the designer’s grandfather alternate with the dreams of the same, in a combination of narrations that seems to be able to open the doors to other universes, other realities, without ever closing your eyes.
Elysian, on the other hand, focuses once again on contemporary femininity and chic comfort, with a collection that focuses on workmanship (both artisanal and digital). The protagonist is the world of ice skating, with a series of clothes that celebrate the beauty of winter nature. Kata Szegedi is an innovative and cosmopolitan brand that loves to experiment and be inspired by the frenzy of the city: for this collection, as well, designers Kata and Daniel play with lights and shadows, celebrating the importance of craftsmanship and urban style, with rigorous but sensual architectural forms. Lastly, THEFOUR targets a nonconformist woman and promotes the celebration of differences, the only way we have to truly enhance uniqueness, in a mix of past and future that is extremely current and that gives meaning to our lives.

OUR FAVORITE LOOKS
Of all these brands, what catches our eye are the experimentation in processing techniques, the research of fabrics, and the bold allure, designed for a strong and self-aware woman. In Abodi, we find oversized silhouettes alternating with tight dresses, quilted coats, and apparel made by crochet and knitting, in a palette dominated by black but still with flashes of antique pink, green, and yellow. As for Elysian, the collection refers to the shades of winter and ice water in clothes dominated by shades of blue, as if they had been designed for elegant dancers. Pleated is the dominant workmanship, but it also finds space for bolder suits in shades of white and black.
In Kata Szegedi instead, the palette consists of black, gray, green, and metallic, with shapes that cover the silhouette by layering different components, with strong cuts. Real sculptural suits in silk, organic cotton, denim, and wool, with a special focus on sustainability. THEFOUR showcases oversized looks made with materials from all over the world: the jacquards are French, the mohair is Italian, the Kente print is made in Ghana, while the silk damask comes from Bezdán. The streetwear and retro vibes underline the designers’ desire to create comfortable and immortal looks.
