What is the most used and beloved makeup product for the summer? Without any doubt: blush! Perfect to give that “ reddened cheeks” effect, a bit romantic, or for the “kissed by the sun” effect, with the cheeks a bit burned after a day at the beach, blush is definitely the most versatile product. Are you at the beach and you have to rush to the happy hour? No problem: a touch of blush on the cheeks, a little on the eyes as an eyeshadow, and a touch on the lips: you’re ready in 3 minutes.
In addition to that, we can not deny our preference for cream blushes, with their comfortable textures and their second skin effect. For this reason, we have made a list of our favorite cream blushes (and shades) of the last months.
Cream Blushes – Rose Inc, Blush Divine Radiant Cheek & Lip Color Refill, Azalea
A blush that drives us crazy: just to look at, it is an experience. Our favorite color? Without any doubt Azalea. Its finish is bright without being sticky, the typical natural skin effect. The color that we chose may seem dark at the beginning (but not as much as colors like berry or red purple) but can be layered according to the needs, and then dosed. Our advice? Always dab the contours with a beauty blender, because it is easy to exaggerate and so you can avoid the stain effect.
Finally, its formula rich in pigment contains a spectrum of ingredients for skin care that improve it with every use as moisturizing squalane, protective vitamin E, and marine ferment extract.
Cream Blushes – Kess Berlin, Blush & Highlighter Duo Stick, Terracotta + Sun-Glow
Among the various Duo Sticks of Kess Berlin, the one that has stolen our heart is Terracotta + Sun-Glow. Leaving aside the end that contains the highlighter, a copper-peach shade with shades of rose gold, which emanates a super comfortable and versatile warm sunlight, the blush stick is the real protagonist of this duo. A warm earthenware shade of Siena with very fine gold pigments that give a cool and subtle shimmer to cheeks, eyelids, and lips. It has a cream texture that’s quite “hard” to be in stick form but, once applied to the skin, it is easily blendable with a brush or fingers (the method we prefer for this blush). Its finish is satin, without sacrificing the brightness.
Ps: in our opinion, this cream blush is perfect for those who love the powder effect, as it’s not too “creamy”.
In addition to that, its color adapts to all skin types and complexions, being a neutral nuance and tending to brownish.
Cream Blushes – Merit, Flush Balm Cream Blush, Raspberry Beret – Deep Berry
We have reached the darkest blush on our list: a grape color that recalls the concept of Clinique’s Almost Lipstick Black Honey.
Let me explain: the color at first glance seems (and indeed is) very dark. Its peculiarity, however, is to be pigmented but at the same time light, so as not to be exaggeratedly visible with the first application, but it allows us to stratify it as we like. Its texture looks like a balm that leaves a veil of creamy color with a bright finish, without ever being too full-bodied. Moreover, it contains vitamin E that nourishes the skin, and is vegan and cruelty-free.
Cream Blushes – Blondisister, Lips and Cheeks Stick 2 in 1, Fire Red 03
A bright geranium red.
A red blush can never be missing in our beauty bag. Even better if it is the Lip and Cheeks Stick 2 in 1 by the Blondsister. Soft, smooth, bright, and coconut flavored. Need to add more? Its texture is a dream: creamy, light, layered, and blendable with incredible ease (which makes it suitable for anyone new to it, in fact, it could be the easiest blush to apply that you have ever tried). Enriched with vegetable butter and wax to increase comfort during application, it contains ceramides and a special derivative of sugar that increases its duration.
Cream Blushes – Tower 28, BeachPlease Tinted Balm, Magic Hour
If you are looking for a blush with a glassy effect, the BeachPlease Tinted Balm from Tower 28 is the one for you. Among all the shades inspired by the colors of the sunsets of Santa Monica, we recommend Magic Hour, a shade sunkissed rosy nude, tending to mauve. A very romantic and light color, which can be layered to reach the desired intensity without creating spots or uneven overlaps. Its finish, compared to other blushes, is wet and slightly sticky, not like putting a gloss but with a decided glass effect.
Its “lip balm” effect is perfect, first of all for the lips, but also to be used on the eyes for a wet monochrome look in a full editorial style.
Cream Blushes – Saie, Dew Blush, Poppy
A poppy-colored “gel” blush with a sponge applicator, whose formula is water-based, perfect to create a hyper-natural and lightweight effect on the cheeks. Highly pigmented, you only need a very little amount and it blends easily on the skin: in particular, being very moisturizing, it is also suitable for dry skins, on which tinted blush can create streaks or irregularities. Its poppy color is screaming “summer” from every pigment.
