When fashion and power couples meet, magic happens.
In the history of fashion, there are many examples of star couples who, thanks to their flawless taste in clothing, constantly influenced by each other, have become icons to be admired and whose looks is an inspiration for many. Moreover, these couples, noticed later on by fashion houses, have become ambassadors of luxury brands, thus creating long-term collaborations that consolidate the presence of brands in the panorama and that are real alliances that influence the industry and the image of the couple and the brand. The economic and cultural impact that a celebrity couple loved and admired by all for their style can have at a certain time in history (just think of Carolyn Bessette and John F. Kennedy jr.) is huge and, exploiting the potential of marketing, allows brands to transform fashion campaigns into real events with worldwide echo. If created in perfect synergy between the brand’s heritage and the identity of the couple, these will allow the public to identify with the relationship dynamics of celebrities, whose emotional involvement creates a deeper bond with consumers. What are the coolest campaigns in history with two stars in love?
Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner for Gucci
Released in October, the campaign starring the model and rapper for Gucci Valigeria is a tribute to the love and heritage of the brand, which is expressed through a creative imagination that recalls the glamour of the 90s of the jet set and the shots stolen to the celebs in the airport. There, with suitcases from the iconic monogram GG and the Web tape, accomplices, smiling and more in love than ever we find just Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner, on a plane, while trying to hide from photographers, with dark sunglasses and luggage in hand. The lovers, who have not yet made their relationship official and have been labeled as one more PR couple created by Kris Jenner for marketing purposes, debuted without any doubt to the public at a meeting place where travels start: for real and out of metaphor.
David and Victoria Beckham for Emporio Armani
It’s a fact that the couple of David and Victoria Beckham shaped an entire generation with their matching looks, which featured on every front page of every single newspaper in the early 2000s. An allure, an influence and an unmistakable style, that of the power couple formed by the former Posh Spice and the most quoted footballer in England in the ’00s, which we will find in the campaign on the occasion of the collection Emporio Armani Underwear FW09, which portrays the spouses in underwear photographed in black and white by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, in a sensual and glamorous atmosphere.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz for Pepe Jeans
Like parents, like son. Following the footsteps of mom and dad Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of Victoria and David, and his wife Nicola Peltz, were the main characters of the Pepe Jeans campaign for spring summer 2022: at the time of the release, actually, the couple was not yet married. The two lovers are therefore portrayed – still as bride and groom to be – in the campaign, entitled Between Us and the pictures taken, all under the direction of the artistic duo Luigi & Iango, surrounded by a romantic and bucolic landscape, in an intimate picture: lying on a lawn, while they play guitar and hug each other wearing their favorite items from the collection.
Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse for The Kooples
Always focusing on another very young power couple, but that has already mesmerized the web, it’s the turn of the campaign for The Kooples by Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse. The two, who after 5 years together, got married in an armored ceremony on July 15, 2023, in Hungary, are also known to have been the main characters of The Kooples’ SS20 campaign. So the couple formed by the model – officially become an angel of Victoria’s Secret in 2019 – and the actor – known mainly for his role as Zack Martin in the Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack&Cody – adds to the list of lovers of The Kooples, a French brand famous for portraying in their campaigns the relationships and real life of celebs.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z for Tiffany&Co
When it comes to Beyoncé, let’s face it, the impact of anything skyrockets. And that is why Tiffany & Co, on the occasion of the new campaign of «About Love», chose no less than Queen B and her husband Jay-Z to represent contemporary love in all its forms. The couple is in fact in the common imagination branded as the symbol of the modern love story and, in the countryside, the two are immortalized while laughing, joking and appearing accomplices. The singer sings the song Moon River accompanied by the piano and her husband captures the performance with a Super 8 camera, in an atmosphere that recalls that of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. But not only that: the spouses appear more united than ever in the shots of the campaign, in which Beyoncé shows off the iconic Tiffany Diamond, discovered in the nineteenth century, which for the first time appears in an advertising campaign.
