Everybody is waiting for the N.21 catwalk, hosted in a pretty corner of Via Archimede. The show takes place in the very pulsing heart of the city.
And the backstage itself looked like a beehive of beauty-making, a factory starred with M.A.C Products, where Make Up Artists frantically worked around models with t-shirts and hair ready for being styled. The air inside was sparkly with expectation, some kind of low-key trepidation. The Artists were too concerned with their human canvases to care about anything else. We couldn’t wait to see how, with a swirl of brushes and a touch of Lipglass, the models would have been adjusted to the theme: freshness and youth. The girls, all very young, all beautiful, were relaxed and patiently moving between the catwalk and the backstage.
It was just small room at the first floor, watching on an indoor garden, but also a place where the magic of beauty was performed.
Tom Pecheux is widely known as extremely talented, and created the perfect “innocent girl”, mesmerizing in her simplicity and naiveté.
He answered a couple of questions, to further explain the look and the idea behind the N. 21 Beauty.

What did inspire you for the N. 21 Makeup?

The make-up is super fresh, very young. The girls are very young, cool.
The Make-Up consisted in barely anything on the skin, everything was very fresh. No foundation, a lot of skincare and just a little bit of concealer. We groomed the brows as a bit bushy: we called them “the virgin eyebrow”.
Even on the eye, there was a little bit of mascara and false lashes, just on the corner, and nothing much. Very young cat eyes.
There’s basically no color, the contour gives the girl power, as the eyebrows, and the lips give the girls glamour.
The idea is a school-girl effect, to keep them very young.
Alessandro wanted the girls to look extremely fresh and, as we know, it’s more when you get old that you want to cover some things

How did you manage the Skincare?

For the skincare, we used a different treatment, depending on the skin. I love to massage the face with the oil. It leaves a very light film and gives a good glow to the skin.
Skincare depends on the season, every season is different.
I love September. Everybody is back from vacation, so the skin is rested, the girls still have a very soft tan. There is little to cover, very little to hide. They have a nice skin tone so, you know, why putting a lot of foundation?
The products used were all M.A.C Products, and the fresh look was obtained with a small-to-no amount of products and a special eye to skincare.

The best, and first, thing to do is to massage the skin.
Then it was applied a generous amount of MAC Fix + mist to hydrate.
Furthermore, the skin was massaged again with M.A.C’s Mineralize Charged products: the moisturizing gel to soothe the skin and hydrate with its soft and light texture, the water (infused with diamond powder) to enlighten the face with pure energy and revitalize the skin. To make sure the products are properly absorbed, use a #188 buffing brush.

Near to no foundation; after all, it’s freshness we’re talking about. The only touch of color is the Water Weight Concealer, only where needed.

Cheeks

The contour gave the otherwise extra-innocent look a touch of power and character. It was used a Taupe nuanced Sculpting Powder in Shadowy, blended all over the cheekbones.

Eyes

The eyes must be young, innocent, therefore the keyword was: natural.
The eyebrows are slightly bushy, groomed with the Eye Brow Pencil in Lingering.
The Sculpting Powder in Shadowy was applied using the #219 brush blended at the outer corners of the eyes, creating a soft, young cat eye. To create the winged effect, false Lashes (#21) were applied in the inner and outer corner of the eyes.

Lips

The mouth is left extremely natural, with a soft touch of wet. To accentuate the natural freshness of the lips, it was applied (with the fingertips, to give that slightly smudged idea) Future Floral.
A splash of iridescent Lipglass completed the look.
