Official Celebrity MakeUp Artist and Director for NARS, as well as Pro Artistry and Red Carpet for North America, Rachel created an outstanding look for Actress Emma Stone, the night of the Golden Globes.
What
Red Carpet Look for Emma Stone.
When
75th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the night of January 7, 2018.
Inspiration
On the Golden Globes red carpet, black dresses were a visible demonstration of the importance of respect and unity, and to never stand or support silence and violence: often inspired from the dress, the makeup aimed to express the same sense of solidarity, becoming one voice with the gown in crying #TimesUp.
Rachel Goodwin said: “Tonight my beauty inspiration came from the symbolic colors of the women’s suffrage movement. I wanted to create a make up that would somehow be imbued with the message of female empowerment and solidarity. I wanted this makeup to fully express the mood of this important night. Therefore I used green, white and purple: tones that, for me, recall hope, purity and a certain sense of greatness.”
The Skin

To prep the skin, Rachel applied Nars moisturizer NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream on the whole face. She then blended a few drops of Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Gobi from the center of the face out, creating a glowy and even finish.
Then, she added a tiny bit of Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly just under the eyes, where it was necessary, and on the spots where the skin wasn’t perfect.
To fix the base, Rachel used the Velvet Soft Powder in a nude shade: its pigments are just so soft and featherlight!
The Cheeks

Using a Kabuki Brush to achieve a healthy glow, Rachel blended the Bronzer Sun Wash Diffusing, in the amazing shade “Laguna”, from the lower cheekbones to the temples.
As always, it’s important to remember that you can have fun with a specific product on some other zone of the face: Rachel applied with her fingertips a bit of lipstick ( NARS Audacious Lipstick in Dominique) as a blush, on the apple of the cheeks.
The Eyes

From the new palette, NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette, Rachel picked up the Biarritz shade (a sweet and fair matte cream) and used it on the whole lid with an Eyeshadow Brush in #49.
After that, she applied the matte sand shade Seven Heaven to the crease. The eye has been defined with a thin note of Night Series Eyeliner in Night.
Rachel, then, blended the colors to create a soft and beautiful effect.
Then, she used a few coats of Audacious Mascara in Black Moon on Emma’s lashes.
For the eyebrows, instead, Rachel sculpted them with a small Eyebrows brush #48, applying also the Brow Defining Cream in Tanami. Then, for an even more natural look, she groomed Emma’s eyebrows with a #52 brush.
To assure a long-lasting effect, as the occasion demanded, Rachel applied a good layer of transparent Nars Brow Gel.
The Lips

Emma’s lips have been detailed and filled with the Velvet Lip Liner in the shade El Agua, a bright fuchsia.
To finish the look, Rachel then applied a touch of Audacious Lipstick in Dominique on the entire surface of Emma’s lips.
