After discovering something more about the history and evolution of the Fashion Week, it is time to explore the trends and the must-haves of the Spring/Summer 2019. As usual, to kick off the fashion week period was New York that, under an almost constant rain, showed on the catwalk the first inspirations for the next season.
From the colorful dresses of Carolina Herrera to the wonderful return of Rodarte, going through the classic style of Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, do not miss our recap of the New York Fashion Week S/S 2019!

RODARTE
_________
The set for the spectacular return of Rodarte to the NYFW was the New York City Marble Cemetery, a location made even more ethereal by the rain: vibrant colors, light fabrics (as tulle and lace) and a cascade of accessories (such as jewels, vaporous headdresses and flowers of course), which made each look unique from head to toe. The show marked the return of the Mulleavy sisters as designers. An artistic, glorified and romantic collection, in full Mulleavy’s style, but still innovative and enchanting. In other words, a vision. Welcome back Kate and Laura, we missed you (a lot)!

CAROLINA HERRERA
_________
This collection marks the avant-garde debut of Wes Gordon after Carolina Herrera stepped down as the creative director of her brand last season. Paying tribute to the brand’s heritage of colors, textiles, and prints, Wes has started a new era, more careful of the new generation’s tastes and needs, and we can notice it by the presence of miniskirts and crop tops. Wes balanced formal outfits with colorful clothes while maintaining an almost absolute minimalism of accessories. Keywords: comfort and carefreeness, the same concepts that Carolina always wanted to communicate through her creations and that we find here renewed, but still recognizable.

COACH 1941
_________
Welcome to the Far West! The style of this new collection by Coach 1941 recalls the country‘s one with its low boots, a “desert approved“ chromatic palette that tends to neutral shades, and functional suits, including sweaters over petticoats and the inevitable leather accessories and jackets. The models on the catwalk look like free spirits coming from another world, and nonetheless fully equipped. It is the perfect collection for anyone who wants to live “Young, wild and free” with an extra touch of style.

ESCADA
_________
Escada is back and it is more determined than ever to impose itself as a contemporary brand. After a recent past in the background, the German brand returns to the catwalk to celebrate its 40th anniversary. It does it by giving birth to a chromatic harmony with a strong impact, full of looks able to meet the taste of millennials and characterized by fluorescent colors, jackets matched with biker shorts, large clothes and leather jackets that follow the logomania trend. A little nostalgia of the ’90s, a glance to the present and the willingness to make the brand established in the future, are the key and winning elements of this last collection by Escada. Don’t forget to follow this name!

JONATHAN SIMKHAI
_________
A natural location was the set to the pure minimalism of Jonathan Simkhai, who brought to the scene informal looks, made contemporary thanks to their details (such as the Vichy print, the lace transparencies and the Victorian puff sleeves), and trendy at the same time through the accessories, such as the wide hats and belts. Everything is characterized by a neutral palette and a veiled, but effective, sensuality, suitable both for a bohemian bride and for a city’s it-girl. The collection is ethereal, versatile and able to aim, with all its characteristics, to immortality.

RALPH LAUREN
_________
Going against the schedule, Ralph Lauren took advantage of the S/S 2019 Fashion Week to present his Fall 2018 collection and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the brand. At the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain in Central Park, the designer gathered 200 friends (including Hillary Clinton, Oprah, Steven Spielberg, and Robert De Niro) and lucky people to stage a presentation of his style, and evolution, from the beginnings to nowadays. More than 100 elaborate and sportive looks, characterized by the typical prints and colors of Ralph Lauren, aroused a big general applause and admiration, proving the success and the timeless charm that the designer has been able to reach and communicate in these first 50 years of American style’s history. God blesses America, and Ralph Lauren as well!

TORY BURCH
_________
A relaxed and chic style, summer holidays-oriented, characterized the S/S 2019 collection of Tory Burch. It looks like girls and women from the city reunite for a relaxing cruise and decide to bring with them all the necessary, in an essential way, to face the journey with a trendy, “ Instagram” attitude. Colorful caftans, sneakers, sunglasses, sleeveless dresses, and light suits, even similar to those of the sailors, compose the fashion show in a brilliant and feminine way.
