Two deep blue eyes, a big smile and a great passion in sharing her world: this is Silvia Caroline, blogger and digital content creator from Turin, whom we had the pleasure to meet during the last Milan Fashion Week.
Silvia has a blog, “The Blue Light Eyes,” a “Romantic” Instagram profile, as she likes to define it, and an elegant but rock style, strong but relaxed, trendy but with a recognizable allure, characterized by immortal accessories and details. In her vision, art is synonymous with life, as it includes fashion, beauty, travel, food and everything that allows her to express herself with creativity, always researching new challenges and new ideas to be conquered by in order to be able to speak, using her language and aesthetics, through her channels.
Fascinated by her experiences, Silvia talked about the trends for the next season that cannot be missing in our wardrobe, whether we want to maintain a simple look or to dare, slightly exiting from our comfort zone.
Are you ready to see the world through the (blue) eyes of Silvia Caroline?
Nice to Meet You, I Am: Silvia Caroline.
Location: Turin.
Trend: I talk about the next season’s trends that I’ve actually been into for a while since they are must-haves. The first one I highly recommend is a men’s cut jacket or a blazer. I would say a monochromatic jacket because you can match it with everything, while people who want to dare can go for the checked style or stripes. Nude and red tones are the key shades for the next season. The jacket can be matched with shirts, t-shirts, dresses, everything, it is a very multitasking product.
Then a leather garment, I prefer black leather trousers, but this year I also propose the longuette leather skirt. If last year the leather miniskirt was fashionable, this year I propose it a little bit longer, to match with the ankle boots or a stiletto. I do not even say the leather jacket because it must be in your wardrobe, it is suitable for all seasons.
Then obviously a dress that matches your body shape, I would say with a floral print, since the bucolic is always trendy or, taking inspiration from Michael Kors‘ last season, maybe a mix and match, maybe polka dots and flowers: by this way you can dare, you just have to remain basic for the rest.
“A dress that matches your body shape, I would say with a floral print, since the bucolic is always trendy.”
THE BLUE LIGHT EYES
My blog “The Blue Light Eyes” was born 7 years ago, since childhood I have always been passionate about fashion when my grandmother, who was a seamstress, made me clothes and my mom made me wear whatever I wanted, only skirts or dresses, no pants at all. I started to follow foreign blogs because at that time the Italian ones were at the beginning, and I decided to open this diary with a lot of unawareness since informatics and I were two totally separated things, and I was young, I was 18 years old, so I said to myself, “Let’s try.”
I love to talk and so I had this pleasure and will to communicate to others what I liked, seen with different eyes than a showcase or a magazine. I opened “The Blue Light Eyes” and I called it like this because it represents my blue eyes that see everything around and that capture what then it is included in my blog. So everything that attracts my attention is inserted in the blog and shared with my followers.
“I opened ‘The Blue Light Eyes’ and I called it like this because it represents my blue eyes that see everything around.”
I opened it as a hobby because I was still studying, I was talking mainly about fashion, writing articles about the fashion shows rather than my looks, but then I slowly started to talk about lifestyle, beauty and travel. After the first years, I started to collaborate with Dior Beauty, Chanel Beauty and other brands of a medium-high target that has always been my strand. Within a few years, I started to work, turning this hobby into my work.
I was born as a blogger so I carry on this path. Instagram does not allow us to be fully ourselves because it does not make us express everything we want, it is always a little limited by the requests of the companies. I have a very particular storytelling, that tends to the romantic, and through the blog, I can express myself more, while on Instagram I tend to make little shorter captions.
“Instagram does not allow us to be fully ourselves because it does not make us express everything we want.”
COLLABORATIONS
Every collaboration excites me because they are all different, I am a very creative person, I love the stimuli and I am always looking for new ideas and changes. So when I am offered a project I always have so much enthusiasm in doing it. I must say that when the projects are structured or there is a continuity with customers I become more attached, I am really into ongoing collaborations. Surely D&G Beauty is one of my favorite brands, I started the collaboration this year and it was a beautiful project. Chanel is my favorite brand, as for every woman, it’s always a pleasure to work with them.
“I love the stimuli and I am always looking for new ideas and changes.”
Last year I was an ambassador for Just Eat and I tested and then reviewed some restaurants in Turin, then they made a paper guide of these restaurants with my reviews. I ate out of proportion (laughs).
I am a person who loves art and for me, art collects everything, music, food, fashion, beauty, so adding something more to my luggage has always been a positive thing. I call myself a citizen of the world because I love traveling and experiencing new places but I remain very close to Turin, my city, and being able to create a project like this, in a city like Turin, which is evolving exponentially, for me it was a beautiful discovery.

A MATTER OF STYLE
I think that anything that we wear should be worn with elegance. It’s something that you can learn and that it’s also a little bit innate. I define my style romantic/rock, I love the pleated skirts matched maybe with a leather jacket, so there must always be a touch of elegance. That is not about saying that I am elegant because I wear an elegant look, but it is all in the way you set yourself, it is a job that you have to do with yourself. The moment you know who you are and what you want to show through your look you have to make it shine through what you have inside. I often see very beautiful looks but not worn in the right way. I think you have to follow your instincts, I dress in the morning according to how I feel.
I am a lover of luxury vintage and when I go to the title shops I always find what I want in my size and style: when there are sales instead, my friends ask my company to choose what to buy. For example, I found a piece from the Ralph Lauren’s Archive in a market in Turin that is beautiful.
“That is not about saying that I am elegant because I wear an elegant look, but it is all in the way you set yourself, it is a job that you have to do with yourself.”
FASHION WEEK
Many brands excite me, among the Italians, Max Mara and Alberta Ferretti are certainly two brands that I would dress from day to night, I feel them as mine. I love oversized coats, the male cut jackets and the bare colors, so definitely Max Mara. About the international ones, it depends: I really like the collections of Michael Kors because it mixes various styles and fantasies and I really like Tibi, which is not so known, but it’s gorgeous, it never misses the point.
DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS
Surely between Paris and Milan, there is an abyss, they are two totally different cities: Paris has its own allure, it has a unique way to express itself and to show you the designers, there is something different in the air. In Milan there are various brands from the emergent to the contemporary ones, while in Paris there is the ancient art, so they are completely different, but also compared to New York, where there is more refinement, and to London, where it is all emergent. Paris for me is the most beautiful one, even if I remain faithful to Milan, it is very hectic, fun and stimulating.
THE MOST INSPIRING TRAVEL
It seems trivial but London. Until two years ago I had never been there and I was not even interested in visiting it. When I was there for the first time I was stoked, it was a crazy imprinting. I think it’s full of inspirations and unique stimuli, it’s a city that makes me feel at home. Last year I was in Seville which is also very beautiful; every city gives me something different and particular, but certainly, London is the one that stimulates me the most.
SMILING
BEAUTY
The Touch of Style: If the person is not accustomed to seeing herself/himself in a certain way I recommend to use the basics at the beginning, because I always think that a person should feel comfortable. I consider what I am wearing my uniform, my protection, of which I am sure. For example, if a person wants trousers of non-stick leather, I recommend the high waisted cigarette model paired with a white T-shirt or a shirt with the turtleneck, then a black jacket with sneakers or ballerinas, or a stiletto.
“I consider what I am wearing my uniform.”
How I Like to Wear it: Leather trousers, a pair of stiletto, plaid shirt or checked in the red shade and leather jacket or trench coat, because on top of the men’s cutting jackets I wear trenches a lot, especially oversize. And then your favorite it-bag that shall never be missing.
Trendspotting: I do not know, I like many celebrities but I do not take so much inspiration from other people, mostly from those I see in the streets. My biggest muse and icon is Audrey Hepburn, she would have flaunted the leather trousers too. For me, it was a very fine, refined and unusual beauty. I’d see her with a style like that.

Your Favorite Fashion Reading: One of my favorite magazines is Elle, I’ve always bought it. I also like other less known magazines like InStyle, which is not available in Italy, I buy it abroad and I like it very much. I always find in magazines something to add to my mood board.
Your Fashion Superpower: I am always 100% myself. Every project I realize I do it based on what I feel and it totally represents me. Other people say that I am very elegant and bon ton, but then I am full of tattoos and they do not understand the correlation (laughs): they are all reminders and they are really small, it’s like I’m an open book, you can read who I am through them, even if you understand it just by looking at me.
