DAY AND NIGHT LOOK INSPIRED BY THE ’70s

For these looks, I had a retro inspiration, around the ’60s/’70s/’80s, which are the years that inspire me the most for everything, also in fashion. I always say that in another life I would have loved to be born during those years. For this makeup I made a very clear base with a bare and dove grey eyeshadow, which I use often during the day: usually, in the morning, I prefer a light makeup, playing a lot with mascara, while on the lips I apply brick red lipsticks.

In the evening the products I add are the black eye-liner, or brown according to the evening, and the red or burgundy lipstick. Sometimes I even make a smokey eye, I always play a lot with the gaze. The ’70s mood comes from the photographic repertoires of the icons of that time, such as Audrey Hepburn. They are kind of makeup that you can wear both in the daytime and in the evenings, very fresh and impactful.

THIS IS HOW I ROLL

I tried a lot of highlighters but this by Dolce & Gabbana is one of my favorites because it highlights without being too heavy. Nyx’s lipstick is actually a pigment powder that needs to be applied on the lip balm to keep the lips hydrated. It’s a super versatile color for any kind of skin, it looks great both on the girls with dark or light eyes have dark or light eyes, I find it chameleon-like.

I love my eyebrows, so I design them with the Benefit pencil, and then I use the Bad Gal mascara by Benefit, which I finished and bought again. As for perfumes, instead, my evergreen is Jo Malone Jasmine Sambac & Marigold, while my fragrance of the moment (perfect for spring) is the Miu Miu Twist.

BEAUTY COLLABORATION

The one with Chanel Beauty, which was done in two versions, one two years ago and one last year in Florence. We made a day and night makeup on the same base, playing a lot with lighter tones for the day and darker ones for the evening, changing very few products between them. Every beauty project is always beautiful and special, every time it’s an interesting experience.

THE CHANGE IN BEAUTY

They already made huge steps, there is a greater closeness to the customer and its needs, there are even brands like Chanel Beauty or Tom Ford Beauty that created collections for men. Then the idea that brands allow people to try their products without booking a session is also very nice, and by doing so, in addition to paper advertising, they have a direct contact with people and can suggest what is best for them.

EPIC FAIL BEAUTY

When I was still blonde, I put a creamy yellow eyeshadow but it was not suitable for me (laughs). Now it could work, but then people told me: “Are you okay, are you sick?”, and I was shocked by this experience.

Obviously, the ’60s and ’70s divas with their very simple makeup, where the gaze was the key. Today I follow Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, she has a beautiful face and she recently launched a beauty collection, I always like the makeup that she makes. She has a magnetic look and is able to enhance every product, creating very simple but beautiful makeups.

THE BEAUTY PROJECT OF YOUR DREAMS

To create a capsule collection focused on lipstick, women’s favorite product and perhaps even the most purchased, which speaks a little bit about me. Then it would be wonderful to be the face of a makeup advertising campaign.

I really like to convey a story through the things I show, so if they would propose to me that idea I would be ready right away!

SKINCARE ROUTINE

My morning skincare routine is very similar to the evening one. I begin by putting a little bit of micellar water on the face to refresh it, then I apply an active and anti-aging serum by Skinius. I go on by applying the Acqua Bio Tecnologica day cream, a unique innovation in the cosmetic filed, and the Blue Serum Eyeby Chanel Serum Eye; alternatively, I use eye mask patches by FaceD. Last, the anti-aging lip balm by Skinius. A few quality steps before proceeding with the makeup. In the evening I repeat the same steps, adding the Crème Secret Premièrs Rides by Eisenberg Paris, which is a little bit more heavy, while every other evening I make a face mask; right now I’m using Le Lift by Chanel.

WHAT’S BEAUTY FOR YOU

Difficult question. In my opinion, it is when we feel good about ourselves; if we like ourselves for who we are, then beauty is on us. Maybe you like yourself at a certain moment because you are wearing your favorite perfume, or because you are going to see your best friends; it is a positive mood that makes us love ourselves more, and other people like us as well. Somehow, it helps us to feel more beautiful with few steps, of course without forgetting the makeup: I never go out without mascara or a veil of foundation. You can also wear a lot of makeup but if you don’t feel pretty, or something is wrong, you’re gray.
