Title: “Dumbo”
Release Date: March 29th.
Director: Tim Burton.
What’s About: The film tells the story of Holt (Colin Farrell), once a circus artist who, after the war, comes home deeply changed. The owner of the circus, Max Medici (Danny DeVito), hires him to take care of Dumbo, a little elephant with two huge ears; when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, the entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) and the acrobat Colette Marchant (Eva Green) will turn the elephant into a star. Will Dumbo find a way to redeem himself and be happy?
#1 Reason Why: The touch of Tim Burton on a great animation movie.
Curiosities: The team in charge of bringing Dumbo to life has used advanced technologies to make the skin, muscles and mass of the elephant extremely realistic. The director also hired some circus artists to share their knowledge and experience with the cast members to make their performances reliable.

What’s About: The anticipation for a Marvel movie has never been so heartfelt: what happened to the Avengers who survived the snap of Thanos? How will Captain Marvel help them? And in what way will the group of survivors be able to save the universe?
#1 Reason Why: It’s the last chapter of the Marvel “3rd Phase” and it will last 3 hours, for the joy (and the consequent pain) of fans.
Curiosities: The title of the film can be found in 3 different Marvel contexts: 1. 16 Marvel Comics has in the original title the world “Endgame.” 2. In a sentence pronounced by Doctor Strange after giving the Time Stone to Thanos in “Infinity War: “We’re in the endgame now.” 3. In another quote pronounced by Tony Stark in “Avengers: Age of Ultron:” “That up there? That’s the endgame.”

What’s About: Ready to dust off the lamp and return to the Arabian Nights? The story is about Aladdin, a gold-hearted thief who lives in the streets of Agrabah and falls in love with the Sultan’s daughter, Jasmine. To raise his situation, he is persuaded by Jafar, the Grand Vizier, to recover a mysterious lamp: when rubbing it, the boy discovers that it contains a Genie able of fulfilling three desires. While the boy tries to conquer Jasmine, Jafar plots to steal the powers of Genius…

What’s About: After Andy’s departure for college, Woody and the other toys now live in Bonnie’s house. The arrival of a new toy, a reluctant fork named Forky, will lead Woody and his friends on a new adventure – set in the midst of a carnival, during which they will meet new characters and see old friends, such as Bo Peep.
#1 Reason Why: The Return of some of the most beloved Disney characters ever and the introduction of new toys such as Ducky, Bunny, Gabby Gabby and Duke (voiced by Keanu Reeves) Caboom.

Director: Jon Favreau.
What’s About: In the Pride Lands, animals celebrates the birth of Simba, future heir to the throne. This triggers the jealousy of his Uncle Scar who, with a painful plan, forces Simba to escape. He will then meet Timon and Pumbaa, two fun animals with whom he grows up until destiny calls him back to save his family and the kingdom.
#1 Reason Why: The nostalgia, the visual effects and the spectacular settings, an excellent cast that includes Beyoncé and Donald Glover, and the timeless soundtrack.
Curiosities: The trailer of the remake (not live-action as most believe) is the most watched Disney trailer ever in the first 24 hours! The film will be released during the 25th-anniversary celebration of the original animated movie.
Must-Have: Friends to sing with and the desire to get emotional again, regardless of age.

What’s About: This is the adaptation of the first two books of the literary saga by Eoin Colfer about the adventures of the young crime genius Artemis Fowl. When the twelve-year-old billionaire Artemis kidnaps a fairy to steal the magic necessary to save his family, he will face a much greater (and dangerous) power than his expectations.
#1 Reason Why: There is the premise for the movie to become a new successful fantasy saga.
Curiosities: It is the only one Disney movies of the year that is no part of a saga or a live action.
Must-have: Having read the books: It might be useful to have a good reference to better appreciate the film.

What’s About: Five years later away and with an anticipated release date, the (no longer) Maleficent returns, starring Angelina Jolie, while Elle Fanning will play once again Princess Aurora in the sequel of “Maleficent.” Nothing has been said about the plot yet, the news of its release is fresh.
#1 Reason Why: To See how the relationship between Maleficent and Aurora will evolve.
Curiosities: Among the new faces there is Michelle Pfeiffer who will play a queen, while Harris Dickinson replaces Brenton Thwaites in the role of Prince Philip.

Title: “Star Wars: Episode IX”
Release Date: December 20th.
Director: J.J. Abrams.
What’s About: To end the Disney year is the ninth chapter of the Star Wars saga, the third of the new trilogy. Just like “Avengers: Endgame,” the secrecy around the film is total, not even the official title has been revealed yet; to find out, we’ll have to wait until April 12th, when it will be announced during the Star Wars Celebration.
#1 Reason Why: To find out how the adventures of Rey and her friends will come to an end.
Curiosities: Carrie Fisher will be also in the last chapter of the saga, while Billy Dee Williams will make his return as Lando Calrissian. The cast’s new faces are Matt Smith, Keri Russell, Dominic Monaghan and Richard E. Grant. For two of them, Monaghan and Russell, it is a reunion with J.J. Abrams: the first actor was in the cast of “LOST,” while the second acted in “Felicity” and “Mission: Impossible III.”
