Arthur Arbesser Beauty 2017: A Backstage of Elegance

The beauty look of choice for the Arthur Arbesser’s models (check out the looks here) is easy to recreate, effortless, like “they did it themselves”.
A world of powders, of softness and natural shades: a subtle and elegant make-up, worthy of a princess, but nothing that a girl couldn’t do by herself.

And that’s here, in its soul smooth and clean, that this make-up perfectly matches the other huge inspiration of the entire collection: the four daughters of the Tsar Nicholas II Romanov, with a special eye for his second born Tatiana.
As Arbesser does with his rigorous and yet soft designs, MAC’s beauty also takes to heart the spirit of the four sisters: the Grand Duchesses, albeit waltzing through the European Royalty of late 1800, were raised in a relatively bourgeois environment.
We might say that, most of the time, they definitely did their own make-up.
The result is a look that’s both blooming and dignified: soft lips with a touch of cherry pink, naturally glowing skin and doll-like lashes.

A light cloud of blush makes the models flush, re-creating the innocent allure of youth and modesty. The inspiration for the beauty plays with the design of the outfits, fishing in the myth of the gracious Romanov sisters and the way they wore a military attire with a clean face, long lashes and flushed cheeks.
The use of products and dark colors is minimal, but with a delicate balance that prevents the final result from looking too modern and graphic or, on the other hand, too bare.
It’s perfect for a Grand Duchess in its tender sophistication, linking once more the themes of court life and simplicity.

Arthur Arbesser’s woman is one of another time, lost and fragile: she has but one product of make-up, some rouge at best, and has to be very careful using it. But she’s also effortlessly beautiful, just like Tatiana Romanov was.

However, the coverage must be invisible: it creates the illusion of a minimal make-up. It shouldn’t cover up that natural flush that will be necessary for giving the impression of a genuine young, naive look.

A natural blush, thanks to the minimum coverage, is used to simulate flushed cheeks.
Cream Color Base in Pearl is used for a subtle and metallic touch of color on the high planes of the face, to highlight the skin.

The brows are left a bit bushy and natural, groomed and styled with the Brow Set Clear. On the waterline was applied the Studio Cinematographic Pencil, while the lashes were only curved. The eyes look fresh, innocent, without being too dramatized: for an effortless and yet flawless look.

One’s a Cherry (from the new Trend Palette) was applied only to the centre of the mouth, with undefined and blurred borders. For the warmer skin-tones, it was used the Plum Prediction nuance.
