Escaramuzas
Dior Cruise Collection Makeup
White horses and a team of 8 beautiful women riding in a pure white gown, with wide hats, carrying out a magnificent choreography in the pouring rain: this is the image of the Escaramuza by Dior. The Escaramuza is a traditional Mexican event held within the biggest “Charrería,” a rodeo-like event, with women as the protagonists.
The riders usually wear traditional costumes inspired by the historical figures of the Adelitas of the Mexican Revolution. These women in white traditional gowns, with the elegance of their complicated choreography, their flamboyant style and their high riding accomplishments, opened the fashion show, setting the theme for the Cruise Collection.
For the Escaramuzas as well, the makeup was entirely based on Dior Makeup products, with a particular focus on the eye and lips.
Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation and Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder created the perfect and flawless base, aiming for a matte finish that would show no imperfections “both in the arena and in real life.”
The eyes were strong, defined with Diorshow on Stage Liner in Matte Black, a touch of eyeshadow and several coats of mascara (using the Diorshow Pump’n’Volume Waterproof Mascara). Differently, than the natural and subtle vibe of the model’s makeup, the lips and nails of the athletes stood out thanks to the matte red of the Rouge Dior Matte 999 lipstick and the Dior Vernis Rouge 999: touches of color that went perfectly with the pure white dresses and the white mane of the horses.
For women that are both strong and très chic.
The Skin
Dior Cruise Collection Makeup
The Backstage Line comprehends face and body foundations and concealers, light and waterproof, for the perfect natural-looking base. The wide range Face and Body Foundations come in 16 levels of intensity for 6 skin tones.
To chisel the trials of the models’ faces, Peter used the highlighters and contour shades form the Dior Backstage Contour Palette. On the cheekbones, he also applied a blend of Strobe White and Strobe Gold by the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette N°001 Universal, that works on all skin tones: the perfect point of shimmer, subtle but definitely there!
The Eye

Following, of course, the latest trends, the eyebrows were one of the focal points of this look: carefully groomed and perfectly defined thanks to the Dior Backstage Brown Palette, creating a “controlled wild look”. To achieve this amazing result, start with the lighter shade on the whole brow to fill in, then define with touches of a darker shade (like Dark Taupe or Dark Brown).

The Lips

The lips were natural, prepped with the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub and then painted with the discreet shine of the pink shade of the Dior Backstage Lip Palette (six beautiful shades, from the rosy pink to burgundy).
The Hair
Dior Cruise Collection Makeup
The hairstyle was composed of a soft and long ponytail, tied low and with a neat center parting. The top half was wrapped with strands of hair, the other half left loose. The work was done by the English hairstylist Guido Palau, a real icon in the beauty and fashion industry.
