Christmas Eve with friends, dinner with the family, New Year Eve‘s parties and afternoons passed jumping from one shop to the other for last-minute gifts: yes, it is a time of vacation and work may let us breathe, at least for a while, but the Holidays are undoubtedly one of the busiest periods of the year. A whirlwind of commitments, each and every one impossible to postpone, which makes quite impossible to dedicate time to a thorough makeup routine.
Have you noticed that we all have zero time for makeup and that our skin is calling for something with a light and comfortable texture, something more versatile and light compared to the usual foundation, full face makeup, and red lipstick? We thought about it, together with Olio & Osso. In this new episode, the keyword is “multitasking.” With just a few colors, super versatile balms and a few drops of oil to soften the skin and to add a bright kick to the makeup, we can be ready to go out in just a few minutes. Here’s our advice, also for that last minute party that you did not think you could manage to go to.
With just a few colors, super versatile balms and a few drops of oil to soften the skin…
– The Light Base –
First of all, to prepare the skin, we spread a few drops of the Lustero Body Oil on the face and décolleté: an oil with a delicious scent of lemon and spices that nourishes and makes the skin immediately brighter, thanks to the golden glitter on the bottom which allows a “custom” shine based on how much we shake the liquid. We also used it for the eyebrows, to soften them and comb them upwards. After applying a light-textured foundation to even the base, we moved to a soft and natural contouring. It is essential to apply the balm carefully, heating it first on the palm of the hand, in order to make the product not only more pleasant to use but also to avoid “moving” the foundation underneath.

– The Contouring –
As a bronzer, on the cheeks and temples, we applied the natural Olio & Osso balm in shade No. 6 Bronze: a beautiful bronze with a warm nuance and the very first shimmer balm of the brand. Like all its the products, No.6 Bronze is made of natural ingredients based on olive oil, beeswax, and grapefruit oil to enrich the formula of vitamins.
To illuminate, however, we heated and applied on the cheekbones the shimmery balm in No. 11 Féte, a bright opalescent shade from the Christmas collection enriched with small glitters. Although the first veil of product already brightens up the face, the comfortable and compact texture of the balm makes it perfect to layer the product as much as you want, for a buildable highlighting effect.

– The Makeup –
It is known that cheeks and lips in multitasking are the best of friends. For the blush and lipstick, we used a mix of two shades which, as always, we have previously warmed on the palm of the hand to soften the texture: No.13 Poppy, a vibrant red with a shimmer finish, and No.12 Plum, an intense violet with veins of gold. Spreading a veil of both balms on the apples of the cheek first, we then proceeded with stratifying the product for an even more lively pigmentation. Also on the lips, we applied more layers of the two colors, going for a “3D” effect that added dimension and color to the pout: we have first applied No.12 Plum all over, then spreading the red No.13 Poppy on the center to make the lips look brighter.
But the intense purple of No.12 Plum was also the protagonist of the eye makeup: after applying the base with the delicate No.7 Blush Shimmer, an iridescent shade of pink that is perfect for illuminating and creating an initial even layer with a light shine, we intensified the pigmentation with No. 12 Plum, to enrich the gaze and add a further touch of color and depth to the eyes.

– The Glossy Touch –
As the last step, to make the makeup look fresh and super glossy, we applied the Everyday Shave Oil: an oil 100% made by certified and natural ingredients, such as Olive Oil, Bergamot and Tea Tree but with a light texture. It is designed to soothe skin as an after-shave but it is also perfect to make the skin feel smooth and velvety (we can bet that your brothers, fathers, and boyfriends will steal a few drops too, since it is also a must-have to soften the beard!) or to “finish” the makeup look in a playful and unexpected way.
We applied three drops on the palm of our hand, warming it and spreading it between the palms in order to absorb the product in excess and to activate the properties of the ingredients. Then we tapped the remaining product on the face, with particular care to tap in on the cheeks and nose.
This way the makeup is glossy, bright and (thanks to the texture of the oil, light but nourishing) not looking too heavy.
