2018 has come and gone in the blink of an eye, hasn’t it?
Twelve months pass so quickly, and it’s almost time for the much awaited Count-Down. Some of you will spend the night with family, surrounded by loved ones, and others will party the night away with friends, with your significant other or maybe chilling at home with good pals and a great dinner: either way, it’s going to be special. Let’s be real: NYE is always special. It’s a bubbly moment full of closures and new beginnings, of resolutions and expectations. But whatever your plan might be, New Year’s Eve is the perfect moment to shine.
There will always be a sparkle kindled in our eyes from the unknown and exciting possibilities of twelve blank pages to fill with successes and memories. So we decided, together with Zoeva, to dedicate this new Episode of our Holiday Makeup to that spark, matching it with an all-over glow on our makeup just as lively: the unique NYE Glow that we hope may light up not only that night of partying but all of 2019.
Just, you know, to let everybody know that we are stars and we intend to shine on.
LET’S DIVE INTO THE CELEBRATIONS!
– The Silver Glow –
An old saying goes that the first twelve days of the new year are going to tell us how the following months are going to be: true or not, it’s sure that the first days of each New Year are all about first steps. Makeup-wise, in this case, our first step was an even, radiant base that added shine to the face without a glossy or dewy effect, adding a touch of light. Then, we moved on the cheeks and cheekbones, to dip in some colors and ulterior radiance.
In this case, we chose the Zoeva powdery blush in a lively peachy shade, in the Mastery of Chocolate nuance from the Cocoa Blend Highlight face palette, in the Plaisir Highlight set. Since we were going for a glittery and popping eye makeup, we chose a warm golden highlighter in Dessert to enhance the shape of the face without being too strong.

For the eyes, after combing the eyebrows, first, we created a warm and neutral base with a peach glowy tone, Of the Favor, blending it in on the entireness of the lid. Then, when they say, “shoot for the moon,” we take the words quite literally: we used the shiny Unlike Any Other, and we applied it on the eye, making it instantly more radiant thanks to the pink rock salt shade.
The result is a fresh, cheerful, but most of all glowy-to-the-extreme eye look that, together with the touch of highlighter and the radiant base, will enhance that part of us that lives for shimmer and light.
A bit of mascara to enhance the eye and, as a final touch, the nude and rosy lips: the perfect blend between simplicity and gleam.

– The Copper Glow –
There’s just one keyword for this look: copper. The alluring resplendence of metallic shade guarantees that no one is going to ignore our makeup, looking both elegant and modern, and creating the perfect way to welcome the new year. Just like we did for the previous look, the base is even and flawless, although the final goal of our foundation is to be sheer and natural, to look like an incredibly radiant skin: covering, yes, and adding that touch of light that makes the makeup unforgettable (especially on the high points of the face) but without hiding the skin texture underneath.
As for the blush and highlighter, we chose a more rose-y shade to not overload the look with warm and heavy nuances: so we went for a pink champagne highlighter and a pink blush, in the popping shade Sinfully Delicious. No contouring, to leave that sense of freshness intact and so we can feel confident in our own skin, although the color is popping on the apple of the cheek and the glamorous touch of the highlighter will chisel our cheekbones to make them look a little higher and sharper.

New Year’s Resolutions
For this look we wanted to have a saturated, full eye, rich both in color and in drama: so we blended the powders with wider movements, extending the shape of the eye on both the inner and outer corners, almost reaching the eyebrows. We used the warmest shades of the Spice of Life Palette, from the glorious copper of Favorite Discovery to the slightly darker shimmery cumin The Flavor. On the inner corner of the eye, we tapped in a tiny bit of Fortuitous Moments, a glittery pink, to open the gaze and make the eye look bigger. Since the colors are so beautifully luminous, almost incandescent, we chose just to comb the eyebrows and to add a touch of black mascara, without the eyeliner.
So not to make the look result in something too heavy, the lips are lucid, dewy, thanks to the nude lipgloss.
