Laura Esquivel for many young people is associated with Patty, the protagonist of the TV series “Ugly Duckling” that a few years ago, from 2007, has represented a real success among young people and that involved the whole world with the story of the rivalry between Las Populares and Las Divinas.
On the occasion of the Giffoni Film Festival, however, Laura was smiling and friendly while presenting the new episodes of her latest TV series “Love, Divina“, produced by Pol-Ka and Federation Entertainment, that have consecrated “Violetta” and “Soy Luna“, while in Italy it will be broadcast by Super! The series follows young Divina, an orphan who takes care of some young homeless: when she reunites grandmother, the girl discovers that she is extremely rich. After that, the chances of realizing her dreams and becoming a singer seem to become more concrete: between songs, heart problems and new friendships, Davina will be loved for her spontaneity and her sweet character.
At the same time, Laura presented the release of the CD with the soundtracks of “Love, Divina “, labelled by Warner Bros, whose copies on July 20 will be autographed by Laura Esquivel at the Mondadori store in Milan. Furthermore, a special episode of Love Divina will be aired in Italy on September 11th, during which the Italian singer Alessio Bernabei will interview the young protagonist from Argentina.
Laura Esquivel was born in Buenos Aires but, in her veins, there is also Italian blood. She dances, sings and plays since she was 8 years old but this has not prevented her from going on with her studies or from keeping her friends close: Laura has stayed true to herself and choose to lead a normal life, as her parents suggested. After she obtained international recognition with “Ugly duckling”, Laura also participated in several productions and programs (also Italians), released songs, shot music videos and participated in the Argentine version of “Tu Cara me Suena” from a Spanish format, winning it.
Laura speaks fondly of Italy, that she considered as a home and where she has particularly affectionate fans, who have been following her since the beginning. Here, she felt very close to them and wanted to answer their question stating that “To me, they are friends now”. And, together with her audience, Laura has grown and changed: young people also speak as a generation, a new generation, critical and aware of the difficulties of the real world and the search also on TV are authentic characters in which they can be identified, such as Divina.
Divina is particularly dear to Laura, because she loves hippie clothes just like her and because they share a real passion for singing: thanks to it they both manage to escape from everyday life and increase their own self-confidence. Both the girls also have a great heart and a very strong desire to be happy. Speaking of singing and music, important elements in this new series, Laura says that with “Love, Divina” has had the opportunity to make different songs, more adult than those of “Ugly Duckling”.
Thank you Mazda Italia for the Ride!
