Raised with comics, Spielberg and Back to the Future, Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro are certainly two of the most talented artists of the recent years. As a confirmation, there is also the affection of the many participants of the Masterclass that, during the Giffoni Film Festival and thanks to the guidance of Francesco Alo and the partnership with BadTaste.it, have been able to confront the two authors about their latest work: Mine. “Our feature film was definitely a risky movie,” said Fabio Guaglione. “As easily understood, it is only apparently a war movie since it is objectively far from the many cliches that the cinema industry uses to represent the barbarity of armed conflicts.”
“Compared with the fascination of the overseas production and the long-way tradition of the seventh art in Italy – He continued- This work has tried to summarize in an unusual alchemy a series of very different influences. Within the narrative track, you can find any possible link and no one would be totally forced. We liked the idea of a substrate of symbolism, and that, thanks to it, the movie was able to overcome the rigid frontiers of the various cinematographic genres. “
The movie that has made them famous internationally is the result of a long and articulated training course: “Our partnership is born during the school years and has been studded with many small milestones of growth and consolidation,” added Fabio Resino. “From the first project “I call you”, a short film made with a simple MiniDV, we landed in the genre of pure sci-fi with E:D:E:N. Starting from this winning feature we have then dedicated ourselves to video clips, commercials and mini TV formats. Cinema, however, has always been our true love and the realization of Mine has grown to be a necessity. “
A love, the one for cinema, which saw at the Giffoni Film Festival its purest expression: “This one is certainly not the first film festival that we attended and where we’ve been rewarded for our work. However, here you breathe an absolutely different atmosphere, one that should touch everyone: from these young people emerges a hunger for truth that, often, the mass-media system tries to silence” Concluded Resino.
