Two things should never be missing in our summer foundation: SPF (hopefully enforced by a precedent layer of sunscreen) and light textures, to prevent that ugly, cakey effect and the risk of our makeup melting in the middle of the day.
Yes, the skin needs to be the perfect “canvas” for the makeup, but covering it fully is seldom a good idea, especially in the hot months when the cells ought to breath and, although protected from sunburns and UV rays, it should be flaunted in the most natural way possible. Thankfully, we’re long past the time when everything unique such as freckles and birthmarks were seen unjustly as something to cover.
Don’t ever feel like you should cover your skin and be ashamed of how special you are, because nobody has to live makeup as a way to hide one’s uniqueness.
