Even the makeup of the show is a player in this new seduction: curated by Dick Page for Tom Ford Beauty, it puts the focus on the eyes with an intense smokey eye, natural yet luminous base, and nude lips. “It all stems from an idea of Peter; we met in the atelier and had ideas for some looks, then we met again here last night and played with other things,” Dick Page told us backstage. “We decided that the impact comes from the execution: some girls have this wet flat eye, due to black liquid eyeliner used all over the eyelid and then made glossy; it’s a deliberately messy effect, with black pencil also applied outside the eye. There are actually two versions of smokey eye: one is brown-based, with two different shades of brown and gray pencil, but always with undefined and soft edges, while the other is a combination of black and gray shades.”
