A lot of palettes, so many, too many? We don’t think so.
But to which shall we devote our attention? Which are the ones that are really worth it and that outdo the others? Are we talking about the ones that just come out or those who have been there, on our watch, for a few months now?
Okay, first of all, we have to come to terms with a simple statement: there will never be enough palettes in our life. If you are a beauty addicted every time you buy one you think “come on, this is the last one.” But then Huda Beauty or Natasha Denona come out with a new one and suddenly it seems that they just invented a new color of the rainbow. And this, frankly, is the only thing we need to justify a new checkout.
But, if we are real beauty addicted, we know that every now and then we must also know how to choose, do our researches, see the palettes we already have in our collection so to not always and only buy the usual 4 colors (we are all guilty of that, we know it very well). We, therefore, present our new palette Edit, those that we have been keeping an eye on for some time and some new ones that have excited us: here we are only talking about VIP (Very Important Palettes).
THE SMOKY EYE BRICK BY VICTORIA BECKHAM IN TUXEDO
This is the perfect example of a palette that it’s not new but that is well stuck in our minds. But why these particular shades? We think it’s very difficult to find a good palette that has the typical colors of the iconic smoky eye, those shades that gave birth to the smoky itself. And if Victoria is the one who proposes them, from the smoky London, then we cannot but trust her. The reviews of these palettes are excellent, and we believe they are the ultimate product for the ultimate smoky. But, as if this was not enough to become part of our VIP list, we could also talk widely about the packaging: a small palette (as small as the palm of our hand), with golden details and a marble brown and gold shaded pattern. A beauty collector’s piece for sure. And if you really want to go in full sinner-mode, you can also buy the Lid Luster Eyeshadow in Onyx and the Satin Kajal Liner in Black, to have a smoky with that grunge effect that we love so much.
LOVE GLOW CHEEK PALETTE BY NATASHA DENONA
Now, we are talking about an absolute novelty. The new Natasha Denona’s face palette has the 4 best shades of pink, between a creamy and a metallic finish, that are so intense they can also be used as eye shadows (we highly recommend it). How to obtain those glowing cheekbones you only imagined in your dreams? Well, this palette can gift them to you. There are 4 steps to get those pink and glowy cheeks: we start from the Glow Cream Base, the creamy part with a wonderful texture and effect, for which we would like to see a dedicated palette, with multiple shades. After applying the base, you can proceed with the Super Glow, a pink color with golden pearls that will give that healthy pink complexion and a lot of brightness. So, let’s move onto the cheekbones with the two highlighters: the Glow Impact Powder and the Diamond Powder that we should stratify on the highest point of the cheekbone. And if you really want a monochrome look, you just have to use the Diamond Powder as a topper for your eyeshadow.
PASTEL OBSESSION EYESHADOW PALETTE IN MINT BY HUDA BEAUTY
Just when you thought there was no need for other colors in your life, Huda Beauty got to us and changed our mind with the strongest trend of the moment: pastel colors. We finally understood that we shouldn’t be afraid of colors, and we finally understood that applying a shade on the whole eyelid is the perfect way to approach it. And if that wasn’t enough, thanks to Huda we have a wide choice: from the most classic to the neon ones. But for this spring she wanted to amaze us with pastel shades: our favorite? The Mint one, a selection of minty pastel, light greens and warm beiges. In addition, Huda has dazzled us with a new eyeshadow texture: a gel formula that reflects light and two of the eyeshadows on the palette are a mix of colors, giving in this way a unique brightness that, as she says, had never been seen before in a palette.
MOTHERSHIP VII: DIVINE ROSE BY PAT McGRATH LABS
Join the waitlist (03/19/2020). This is what we are told when we open the Pat Mcgrath Labs website to see her new palette, this time dedicated to all shades of pink. And we know, when Pat asks us to put our name on the list, we just have to listen and do it. Because nobody is like Pat, and we can trust her. With such passion, it seems that we are talking about our best friend, instead, we are talking about one of the most creative, crazy, authentic makeup artists in the world. And yes, she is behind the makeup of all Valentino’s fashion shows. And yes, she is the woman who created a palette dedicated to the Met Gala which we’ve been all obsessing over for a very long time. And yes, she is the one who brought Gucci Beauty and the famous Armani Luminous Silk Foundation to life. And she is the one who, finally, founded her Labs and has been dazzling the world ever since with products of great pigmentation and generally taking makeup to another level. So why shouldn’t we trust her when she tells us to put our name on the waiting list for her new palette? Pat, you have our total trust, hands down.
