Yes, it’s time! After more than a year Netflix brings us back to Hawkins, to run around riding our bicycles, as if we are existing in a Stephen King‘s novel, away from a menace not entirely explained yet.
Friday 27th October the nine episodes of the second season of “Stranger Thing” will be available on Netflix!
But before we dive into the 80s, it’s better to take a quick recap, so we wouldn’t have to return to reality too soon.
Last year, in July, the Duffer Brothers introduced us this typical, peaceful town in Indiana, where everybody is a friend and no one needs to worry about anything. The only issues and meetings with Evil are the ones from the dashboard of the Dungeons&Dragons’ party of four young friends: Mike Wheeler, portrayed by Finn Wolfhard, the Dungeon Master, who have to manage the quests of Dustin Henders (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp).
Their lives are disrupted, though, by Will’s disappearance and the appearance of a strange girl with shaved hair and a number tattooed on her arm, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
So the three friends, Will’s mother (Winona Ryder) and brother (Charlie Heaton), the chief of police Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Mike’s sister (Natalia Dyer) and everybody around them find themselves knocked into a kind of D&D quest, but much more real (ask Barb).
Almost a year and a half later, “Stranger Things” is one of the hit show of the great American streaming platform, and the main characters are already become baby-stars, enough to join Jimmy Fallon for the opening video of the Golden Globes 2017 on par with Mr. Robot and Game of Thrones, to the strains of “La La Land” soundtrack.

Even the “oldies” actors have achieved notoriety, like David Harbour who certainly have to thanks the show of being hired for playing the new Hellboy version of Neil Marshall.
And the new-entries like Billy and Max, portrayed by Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink definitely will have a similar success.
Another addition to the cast is scheduled to be an actor who is already famous, first as a kid in a movie that gave a lot to “Stranger Things”, “The Goonies”, and then as an adult in one of the most important fantasy saga, “The Lord of the Rings”: Sean Astin!
We don’t know much about the second season, except that it is set a year after the first one and that it will be more explosive!
Meanwhile, “Stranger Things” will have an important primacy in Italy: for the first time Netflix will be present at Lucca Comics & Games (1st-5th November), the most important comics (and more) convention in Italy, and on 1st November there will be some of the cast to present this season in front of the most fierce fans.
But, in order to be really 100% ready coming back to Hawkins, we can’t just rewatch the first season. We have to download and finish “Stranger Things: The Game”, the amazing mobile game, created for the occasion, that let you solve many scenarios using all the characters of the show. Obviously in a fancy 80s’ fashion!
Before we plunge into the fantastic world of the binge-watching (or The Upside Down, you decide), we have to thanks the God of TV series for “Stranger Things”.
